Section 106 Policy

UCI Recruit are proud to support local authorities and major contractors in achieving their Section 106 commitments through the provision of local labour, ensuring social value on all our developments around London.

Working with the majority of London Boroughs including Wandsworth, Lambeth and Tower Hamlets, UCI have successfully supported over 100 local people back into work within their borough in the past 12 months.
Our close relationship with local authorities, colleges, training providers and job brokerages, enables UCI to act as final link for site ready candidates looking to gain employment.

As an organisation, UCI understands the importance of supporting the London Living Wage, this not only offers a better standard of living for the candidate but also higher worker retention for the contractor.

In addition to this, UCI Recruit are also committed to up-skilling our candidates wherever possible. Through schemes such as the CITB Project and Skills 2 Construction, UCI work together with both main and sub contractors to locate those candidates who warrant funding to progress their career in construction. This may come in the form of UCI sourcing the necessary funding for a Labourer to gain further qualifications i.e. Traffic Marshall, Forklift tickets etc. This incentive has proved to be a successful platform for a number of our candidates on projects such as Battersea Power Station and Nine Elms.

Our payment preference model is to be a PAYE employer, we deem this to be the best option for both contractor and candidate providing flexibility and security.
